Senior Developer
Platform, Content Systems & AI Tooling
Acuru is entering its next phase of growth. The product is proven, deployed across major enterprise clients including three of the Big 4, and used daily by professionals preparing for demanding qualifications. We are hiring a Senior Developer to help scale and evolve the platform.
You will work across the full stack, contributing end-to-end from idea through to production. A key focus is our learning content engine — the system that powers how technical material is authored, structured, versioned, and delivered at scale. You will help evolve the internal tooling and platform capabilities that underpin the entire learning experience.
We increasingly use AI to enhance learning outcomes and streamline content workflows. You will be involved in building these features pragmatically, integrating large language models where they deliver real educational value.
You will work closely with the CTO and a small, cross-functional team spanning product, AI, customer success, and subject-matter experts, with increasing ownership and influence over technical decisions.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain full-stack features across the platform, from learner-facing experiences to backend services and data models
- Develop and evolve the learning content engine — how material is created, structured, and delivered at scale
- Create clear, engaging frontend experiences in React with strong attention to UX and learner experience
- Design and extend backend services and APIs using Node.js and PostgreSQL
- Contribute to AI-enabled features including content generation and adaptive feedback
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience
- TypeScript/JavaScript, React and/or Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL or similar relational database
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or similar modern CSS frameworks
- Some experience with AWS or equivalent cloud platforms
- An appreciation for good UX — you notice when things feel awkward and care about fixing them
- Interest in LLMs and AI-enabled workflows, even if hands-on experience is still developing
Bonus: Experience with ed-tech or learning platforms, React Native, startup environments, or direct interaction with enterprise customers.
Location: Dublin / Hybrid / Remote (Ireland-based, with regular visits to Dublin for team planning days).
Founder's Associate

This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the founder and CEO, help shape a growing company, and fast-track your development across sales, operations, customer success, and strategy. You'll get real responsibility from day one.
We're a small, fast-moving team building critical infrastructure for the next generation of professional services firms. If you want to learn what it's really like to build a company from the inside, this is the role.
Adaptability is essential. Business priorities shift quickly and you'll need to manage multiple workstreams, navigate ambiguity, and roll up your sleeves for tasks that don't come with a playbook. That's also what makes it exciting.
What You'll Do
Sales, Meeting Prep & Follow-Up
- Research prospective customers and prepare compelling slide decks and briefs for sales calls and investor meetings
- Take ownership of the sales pipeline: track every opportunity, follow up relentlessly, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks
- Draft and send professional outreach and follow-up communications
Customer Success
- Manage the onboarding of new groups onto the platform, including launch preparation and coordination
- Run engagement campaigns: marketing-style emails, check-ins, and proactive outreach to keep customers engaged
- Be the organised backbone of customer relationships, ensuring a smooth experience from signup to renewal

Operations & Strategy
- Work closely with the Founder and CEO to execute high-priority initiatives
- Identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and help build systems that scale
- Help shape Acuru's culture, strategy, and long-term direction
Location: Guinness Enterprise Centre, Dublin (Hybrid: in-office + remote flexibility).
Start Date: Immediate.
Salary: Based on experience.
